Winemaker

Roger Wong

After years of enjoyment making wine as a hobby, Roger made the transition from geography and mapping national parks, to a career as a winemaker. Roger joined the BC Wine Industry in 1995 starting as Tinhorn Creek Vineyards was launching. During that time he was able to learn numerous skills that reached from basics of farming to judging wine for competitions. All were necessary and useful skills as he moved to winemaker at Pinot Reach Cellars in 1998 (now Tantalus Vineyards). Roger fell in love with the Riesling varietal and launched his first brand, Focus, to feature the strengths and versatility of this noble grape.  Gray Monk Cellars welcomed Roger in 2005 to oversee their sparkling and red wines program. Intrigue’s fate was sealed when he met Gray Monk’s controller Geri Davis, and their families joined forces to establish Intrigue Wines in 2008.

In 2019, Roger moved to Intrigue full-time to oversee vineyard operations and winemaking.  Roger cherishes time spent with Jillian and their boys, which usually involves some type of outdoor activity such as skiing, kayaking, hiking or biking in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

Vancouver Island & Lower Mainland Sales Representative

Kim Dorcas

Kim’s career started in the hospitality industry, first, as a bartender in a lively Irish Pub to working her way on to hotel management.  This industry presented her with the ability to live in some of the most desirable locations in BC.  With a focus on food and beverage operations, her responsibilities included creating wine lists which would pair nicely to restaurant menus, organizing various wine events and overseeing liquor store operations.  Learning about the wine industry in BC became a passion.

After 20+ years living in Kelowna, being close to family became a priority so in early 2019 she relocated to Vancouver Island.
