Outdoor Concert Series- Billy Wiseman Returns!

The development of Billy’s unique style is a result of a lifetime of musical influence which began in Newfoundland, where he was born. However, it was a two-week vacation to Vancouver in his early twenties when he first picked up a guitar and taught himself to play. It wasn’t long after, that he was experimenting with the traditional Irish war drum, the

Bodhran, (pronounced bow-ron). Billy soon hit the road, playing numerous gigs throughout British Columbia and Alberta, making friends and entertaining the masses with his East Coast Celtic flavour, tongue in cheek tunes, as well as many hits from the 60’s and up. Some of Billy’s most requested songs from his repertoire include, Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline; Wilson Pickett’s Mustang Sally; Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire; and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. He is also well known for his rendition of Ron Hynes’ Sonny’s Dream. Billy has spent the past 30 plus years entertaining in pubs thru-out BC, Alberta, USA, England, Ireland, Holland, and Africa. He has done recordings in Nashville, opened for Roger Miller, Dan Seals, The Oakridge Boys, and Joe Diffie, to name a few. Billy spends his summers out on the west coast of Vancouver Island, professionally guiding for the mighty Chinook Salmon, thru his company Saltwater Cowboy Fishing Charters, since 1986. His passion for entertainment is equally matched with his passion for fishing. Billy currently resides in Kelowna with his wife Lana and works full time for Gray Monk Estate Winery, a Division of APL, in Lake Country.
